The Cooperative Tasso: About us

Born in about 1970 by the will of some Sorrento taxi drivers, The Cooperative Tasso has become what it is today thanks the audacity, the skill and the determination of the defunct founder and coordinator Ronca Mario, better known as Mario l'Amalfitano. One of the goals for which the cooperative is born was to avoid to transform our wonderful town into a bustling metropolitan center, since, due to its geographical formation, full of small streets that still witness the Roman period, it does not fit to big tourist busses, and that's how year after year Sorrento gained the actual structure, that we helped to model toghether with local authorities, to match public utilities.

Infact our buses, that link hotels to the harbor, to restaurants, to beaches, and everywhere you might want to go, although small sized, they can move with their fleet thousands of people simultaneously. Its acrivities are many, always in the transports field. The Cooperative Torquato Tasso today continue its activity, becoming a landmark for who pass, stop, or leave from the spectacular Sorrento Coast. By contacting us, you will find a solution for any transport problem, from little local transfer, provided by our mini electric buses, with whom we have cooperated to reduce pollution produced from exhaust gases, improving air quality and setting up a good example for virtuos companies to help the environment.

The Cooperative also uses a modern fleet of cars and minibuses suitable for simple tours and excursions for groups and individual who prefer a particular service and the assistance of qualified staff. For every group that comes in Sorrento and have to go to the islands, the Cooperative has a terminal of 10,000 square meters where you can park your vehicle and reach the harbor by the shuttle service, acrive 24/24h, which link the harbor to the terminal and vice versa. The Cooperative Torquato Tasso also perform the tow truck service 24/24h for small aids or long trips, all with modern equipment and highly qualified technicians.
